Ivy Kids August Subscription Box Celebrates Book "Mouse Paint"

I received the below mentioned subscription box from Ivy Kids, all views and opinions are my own. See Disclosure.
There is something incredibly irresistible about dipping your fingers in wet paint. It's just a fact.

I'm not sure what it is about humans but we love to see what happens when we touch wet paint, when we mix paint and when we lather it over a blank canvas. Color can ignite emotion and even change our moods, so is it any wonder learning to paint and mix colors is so exciting? I'm an artistic person, but working with children I've never met a child who didn't want to paint when given the opportunity. This month's Ivy Kids subscription box features the book "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh. While I already had a love for this book, it happened to be one the Booper had never read. We dove into this book with much excitement, and it made a huge splash!

Just like the Ivy Kids subscription box from July this month did not disappoint. In just a short amount of time my son has learned his primary colors and can't wait to experiment with color to create new ones. If you've never read Mouse Paint it's a very simple story and lots of fun for kids. Three playful mice dive into primary colored paint and discover mixing two colors can make a new color. The Booper simply can not get enough of this story and all the activities from his Ivy Kids box. Thankfully the bottles of paint included in the kit were enough for us to use several times after the included projects because he just wants to paint every day!
Each thoughtful activity included in the August sub box reinforces the use of colors and blending. He can now tell me how to make purple or green, and his newest favorite color ORANGE! He's always loved green when you would ask him about his favorite color, but after learning how to mix paint to create colors he loves orange. My favorite project from this month's box was the mouse suncatcher pictured at the top of this post. The Booper made the suncatcher using squares of pre-cut tissue paper and the included plastic sheet picturing a mouse. Ivy Kids includes a personalized item for your child each month and the suncatcher had the Booper's name on the mouse. He was so excited to make this project by himself. Hanging in our window the Booper remarks on the sun shining through the colors of paper almost every day.
Each bag inside the Ivy Kids sub box includes directions and tips for parents to help keep your child engaged. The best thing about this sub box is they don't even know they're learning it's just so much fun! Have more than one child? Good news you can order extra supplies with your kit so both of your children can enjoy. I've been so impressed with Ivy Kids so far I'm going to be continuing the fun by ordering three months for the Booper. I just love how much he's learned through these activities and seeing the pride on his face when he shows off his crafts.
